Meet Amanda
As a wedding celebrant I’m passionate about working with couples who want the freedom to create a ceremony that’s truly personal and reflects them as a couple.
I build professional relationships with my couples based on honesty and integrity and lots of fun and friendship on the way.
Couples should have complete freedom of choice in all aspects of their wedding ceremony, and as an experienced celebrant I provide guidance, support and knowledge to enable you to have your dream wedding ceremony. Integrity, Passion and dedication are core values in my business.
How and why did I became a celebrant. (When life gives you lemons).
I left a successful 34 year teaching career having been a senior manager, Head of 6th form, and amongst other things Head of PE, and Head of Psychology.
Why? After the death of my brother I was inspired by an incredible celebrant who led the funeral.
I decided I wanted to be able to provide that sort of feeling and comfort for people in life’s major moments.
Training in funerals and weddings followed gaining the NOCN level 3 Certificate in Civil Celebrancy.
I now specialise in weddings but do funerals occasionally too.
Who knew?!?!
Couples really value the transferable skills from my academic career.
These include wisdom and understanding that comes with age and life experience, strong professional values, the ability to work with a range of people, and extensive public speaking experience. I’m semi retired and do this because I love it so from your perspective you’ll never be just another ceremony that I’m trying to cram into a busy work schedule.
I’m all about quality over quantity, you’ll always get the very best of me!
As an experienced wedding pro with features at the BBC , I write for and am featured in a range of magazines and newspapers helping couples with all aspects of wedding planning and wedding etiquette.
Things we might or might not have in common.
In my time off I love to travel whether it be a cultural city break or a lazy beach holiday.
I love animals especially cats and travel worldwide as a verified pet sitter.
Sport is a big part of my life, both playing and watching . I love to incorporate that in my travels, watching football or cricket abroad as well as golfing and kayaking. Nature and being outdoors is my Zen and I’ve kayaked in Venice, Rome, Seville and the USA.
I socialise with my fabulous friends, and music is a constant in my life.
I used to DJ and had a radio show so I like gigs and festivals. But I’m also a history geek so can often be found in Museums, National Trust properties and at Air shows.
I share compassion and empathy as a volunteer telephone befriender for the RAF Association.
As well as Armed Forces charities I also support Cancer research, Vow for girls, Centrepoint, and restoration projects for historical air craft.
Couples value my calm and assured approach to creating personal and emotive ceremonies, my support, guidance and attention to detail, and the fun stress free journey we take to their big day.
I put my couples first, they are the heart of everything I do and as such, of the awards I’ve won, the ones that they directly influence such as the Hitched awards, are the ones I treasure the most.
Book a free call today to see if I’m the right fit to bring your dream ceremony to life. Together, we’ll make your special day unforgettable.
